Parimal Mitra Smriti Mahavidyalaya, approved by and affiliated to the University of North Bengal was set up on September 19, 1985 for conducting degree courses in Humanities and Commerce. Located in 13.2 acre pollution–free, serene and lush green piece of land in the rural Western Dooars, the institution aims at nurturing the intellect of young students and preparing them to meet the challenges of the global society while widening their intrinsic values.

The college was set up to meet the growing requirements of the people of western Dooars. Over the last two and a half decades the college has earned a reputation as one of the premier institutions North Bengal. The college wishes to strengthen the dream of Parimal Mitra, the late visionary of Dooars, by putting the institution in the fore front of educational activities while carving a name for itself in the top echelons of the academic world. We are hell-bent on following our vision to impart value –based academic to empower our students with wisdom and charge them with rich Indian tradition and culture, to invoke the self, to broaden the same towards harmony, bonhomie, nation building and brotherhood.
