Like every year, Swami Vivekananda Championship Night Football Tournament is being played on the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. Thus, this tournament is called Swami Vivekananda Championship Night Football Tournament. The tournament is jointly organised by Mal Municipality, Sub – Divisional Sports Association and Satkar Samity. This tournament is going on for the third year this year and it is happening on Railway Ground, Malbazar. The time to start the match is 6:30 PM
12th January was its gand opening. On this auspicious occasion of the opening ceremony, Tribal Welfare Minister Mr. James Kujur was present, who lit the spice of this football tournament with his hands. Samaresh Choudhury (Ex Indian Football Player), Bulu Chik Baraik (MLA of Malbazar), Swapan Saha (Chairman of Mal Municipality) were the special guest on the stage.
In the last year, the winner of this football tournament was Netaji Subash Athletic Club (Oodlabari), which was against Mechi Nepal in the Finals.
Netaji Subash Athletic Club has become Champion by winning the title of this football tournament for two times. In the last two years, No team could beat them in this football tournament. This year, Netaji Subash Athletic Club will play their first match against Calcutta Customs on Monday, 15th January.
Along with that Satkar Samity Mal had played against F.C. Bonjar Assam on 14th of January at won by 6 goals.
